Stocks

The stock markets have been raging upwards as if Covid-19 has never happened before. Indices like NASDAQ Composite and Shenzhen Component are at higher levels than the beginning of the year.

The FTSE Straits Times Index (STI) at 2,635, is still 19% lower than the start of the year at 3,252.

But this is not reflective of the entire Singapore stock market as there were 33 stocks that have gained more than 100% from their respective lows in 2020.

You would notice that majority of them are small cap stocks with unfamiliar names. I have not removed any stocks that may be on the SGX Watchlist and hence, be more thorough if you are researching any of these stocks.

What isn’t surprising are the good performances shown by the medical apparel stocks such as Top Gloves, Riverstone and Medtecs. They have been in the limelight since Covid-19 has struck.
