I’ve been investing since I was 18 when I first invested my “ang bao” money into Unit Trusts. Ever since that first foray into investment, I’ve always been interested in investing and organically grow my assets. At the same time, I am also passionate about technology and innovation.

During my time in the army, I would spend my free time reading up on financial investing, learning to read financial reports and understand how a company works or generate profits. After completing my National Service, I secure a work and study program that brought me over to Melbourne, Australia for 3 years. During that period, I thought my investment were in the good hands of the banks agents as they were the experts and were knowledgeable enough to protect their client’s interests.

Then in 2007, the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) happened. My entire investment portfolio was affected. While I was still in Melbourne, I had a hard time contacting the bank agent in Singapore who was handling my portfolio. When I finally got hold of him and signed all the documents required to cash out my holdings, my entire portfolio took a 70% loss.

It was my first time experience with a major financial crisis and I learned it the hard way. This brings me to one of my main reasons why I invest.

Why do I Invest?

When I started investing, my main goal was financial freedom. That was the ultimate goal but I knew I had to take small steps along the way. One of the smaller goals that I set for myself when I was 21 is to have an investment portfolio of $1 million by 30. I believed that from that point, I would have enough experience to handle bigger and riskier investments to fully achieve financial freedom by 40.

After the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) in 2008, my financial freedom road map was hit with a massive road bump and I learned two very precious lessons:

  • I need to be always be in control of all my investments.
  • There is still so much more to learn in this investing world.

It reignited my investing passion and I started to learn investing seriously and joined different communities to share and discuss ideas. It was around the late 2016 when I discovered Ethereum and the underlying Smart Contract technology. I was absolutely fascinated by it, now I can have both my passion in tech and innovation coming together with my passion for investing! The challenge then was there were too much information and so many scam stories in this alternative investing such that I didn’t know where or how to begin. It was in 2017 when I joined a course by Chris Long and that kickstarted my cryptocurrency investing journey.

The GFC affected my financial freedom road map but cryptocurrency turned out to be the expressway to bring me back to speed towards my financial goals. That said, I am a prudent investor and didn’t go all in. Instead, I started out with $5000 in 2017 and fast forward today my cryptocurrency portfolio is a respectable 6-figure portfolio that generates between 10-15% annual interest.

Why do I Teach?

I always believe that if you are able to share what you’ve learnt and teach others, you will master the skill faster and better. Even today, I’m still a learner while I share and teach others what I have learned.

One of the satisfactions I enjoy is hearing how my students and mentees have profited from my sharing and guidance. They like how I am able to explain complex terminologies used in cryptocurrency investing and have real world examples for them to visualise. I enjoy helping them to achieve their financial aspirations through cryptocurrency investing much like what I am doing.

How do I invest?

I am a HODLer, short for “Hold On to Dear Life” in the cryptocurrency investing world. I believe in the long term benefits of cryptocurrencies and that they would become the choice of investment for the next generation.

Using the three systems we share in our Crypto Profit Secrets course, anyone can start investing into cryptocurrencies. This makes cryptocurrency investing simple, practical and profitable. Another advantage of cryptocurrency investing is the low entry barrier. You can start investing by buying your 1st Bitcoin as low as $50, with very low fees. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, once you learn how to execute the systems, it will work for you!

I also share many of the key fundamentals to cryptocurrency investing as well as the mindset required to succeed in my videos and articles on Dr Wealth. You can read my articles here!
